As much as this appears to be a planter, it’s actually gift wrapping.
I was once accused by my girlfriend of not putting enough thought into the wrapping of her gifts. At the time, she had an infatuation with lush, green grass, so in response, I built this planter, encased three presents in plastic wrap, buried them in soil, and planted rye grass on top.
When given the gift, she had to decide whether to immediately “unwrap” it, destroying the grass in order to get to the goods, or hold out until nature took its course. I’m glad to report that she has the patience of a saint.
